Capt. Joe MacDonald, Chief Pilot for the Boeing Company's 747 program, addressed a large and enthusiastic audience with his "Dreamlifter" presentation where he detailed the need for such an airplane, how it fits into The Boeing Company's 787 production picture and displayed videos, one of flight test, one of airplane construction, and one of airplane #2 rollout. The Capt. took questions from the audience.

Joe is the Chief Pilot for the Boeing 747 Program including the -8 model scheduled to enter service in 2009. He currently serves as the chief test pilot for the 747 Large Cargo Freighter, a specially modified 747-400, which is to be used to transport large composite sections of The Boeing Company's 787 Dreamliner airplane.

Prior to becoming chief test pilot for the Large Cargo Freighter Joe served as senior engineering test pilot on the 747. He also worked as the senior engineering test pilot for the Boeing 777 program too.

Joe has served in the United States Armed forces, Navy, flying a variety of carrier-based airplanes ... including the Grumman A6 Intruder.
